Coagulation Factor Xa
Biological Target
Coagulation Factor Xa Description
Coagulation Factor Xa (FXa) is a serine protease that plays a central role in the coagulation cascade, acting at the convergence of the intrinsic and extrinsic pathways. It is primarily found in blood plasma, where it is activated from its zymogen form, Factor X, by Factor IXa or Factor VIIa. Its main physiological function is to convert prothrombin into thrombin, an essential step for fibrin clot formation.
